True story: a mother went to make her 15 year old daughter return home with her from her fathe's house. The mother has physical custody and the father has visitation. Father said she was staying at his house because she had decided that she did not want to have the mother all in "her business" whereas Dad lets child decided when, where and how she lives her life. Mother called for the sheriffs department to carry out the court order of getting the daughter back. Sheriffs department proceeded to say they do not have the right to carry out a custody order. I am not sure what that means because my understanding is the judge gave an order, signed it and it can be enforced. The sheriffs department officers were rude and non cooperate with the mother and was very supportive of the father. The daughter said she was afraid, but could not say why? Mother has never been investigated for anything improper but was treated like a criminal by the officers. Does that mean when a 15 year old wants their way they pitch a fit to get their way and law lets them have their way? Who's the parent and what right does an officer have to disregard a Judges order? Is there anyone that is willing to carry out the law when it comes to our children or do we just continue to MAKE sure they get EVERYTHING they want? Can we blame parents when we don't want to let parents be parents.
